Our Epsilon METC – Odessa representatives, Capt. Volodymyr Ivanovych, Director of Epsilon Maritime Services and Mrs. Tetiana Chuienko, Quality Manager of Epsilon METC, participated at the Conference on Ukrainian Maritime Education, organized by Argentum Crew Management and Cruise Academy (ACCA).
The ACCA Conference, held on February 18 in Odessa, brought together government representative, representatives of the largest crewing companies, leading maritime schools and training centers to discuss acute issues of Ukrainian maritime education and the future of Ukraine in the international maritime labor market.
The conference discussed issues of education, obtaining diplomas and certificates of graduates of maritime universities, algorithms for preparing seafarers’ documents, the introduction of CES-testing during the qualifying exams. One of the main topics of discussion was the quality of English language teaching in maritime schools and preparation for the MARLINS test after the second year.
Education Institutes shared their experience in the organization and delivery of training disciplines and successful results of their students. The Representatives of ship owning and crewing companies expressed their recommendations in return. Captain Volodymyr Ivanovych highlighted the importance of foreign investments in the Maritime Education of Ukraine and the relevance of maritime disciplines and graduates to the requests of the ship-owners: “Actualization, modernization and digital transformation will strengthen the position and reputation of Ukraine on the Maritime Market”.
